Copywriting

So I’m aspiring ad creative – so shoot me…..please!

Below are some samples from the work I’ve currently completed as part of a Postgrad Dip in Advertising and Digital Communications (creative stream). If you’ve any questions or would like to drop me a message you can do so via email to qualitywaffle@gmail.com.

Taught by none other than Nick McGivney; I’ve developed my copywriting technique by learning how to use different tone and write for different formats including digital. Posted below are links to downloadable radio scripts I’ve written for projects assigned by both Nick McGivney and also by Art Direction lecturer – Michael Walsh:

Sunsilk radio advert – to highlight Sunsilk’s new range of products that save you time doing your hair.

HeavenAccordingtoMe radio spot - to advertise heaven as the ideal destination for the afterlife.

IIS  response 1 - script to advertise BeABetterBusiness.ie

IIS response 2 - second go at advertising BeABetterBusiness.ie

Design and Layout

The brief was to design a website for a week long festival in Dublin. My first instinct was to do a website for Bloomsday and I stuck with it. Using inspiration from the architecture and stuccodore styles of the early Twentieth century, I designed a clean layout for the site incorporating key pages which are easy to navigate and read, as well as using a grid system to retain a uniform layout.

Radio

My assigned brief was to pitch the West of Ireland to an Irish audience, ensuring that the following three attractions were mentioned: The Cliffs of Moher, Donegal Castle and the Aran Islands. The ad, lasting thirty seconds, must also put emphasis on the low cost options available to holiday makers.

Treatment:

Against the background of some complimentary sound effects, the narrator will introduce the many different sights to behold on the west coast of Ireland. Areas mentioned will include the cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and Donegal Castle along with interesting facts about these attractions and finally emphasis put on low cost and the local aspects of these attractions, i.e. how close they are.

Sound editing by moi!
